Synopsis

This talk will examine the latest developments in Singapore's restructuring & insolvency law and explore Singapore’s pivotal role as a regional hub for restructuring. Attendees will gain critical insights from recent landmark case law developments and will be informed of the latest proposed reforms to the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act (IRDA), equipping participants with a good understanding of upcoming changes and their potential implications for practitioners and stakeholders.

Debby Lim is a Senior Partner at Dentons Rodyk, co-leading the Firm's Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice with over 17 years of experience in insolvency, banking disputes, asset recovery, and fraud investigations. Renowned for her role in precedent-setting restructuring and insolvency cases across Asia-Pacific, Debby has appeared before the Singapore Court of Appeal in significant insolvency appeals. Internationally recognised, she is among the first three Singapore-qualified lawyers to receive a fellowship from INSOL International, contributing to thought leadership and participating in UNCITRAL Working Group V discussions. Debby holds several leadership roles, including Co-Chair of the Law Society of Singapore’s Publications Committee, Vice-Chair of its Insolvency Practice Committee, and Asia Regional Vice Director of Membership of IWIRC, advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
