Synopsis

The talk will examine the role of lawyers as gatekeepers in the prevention of money laundering, considering both ethical and regulatory duties. Attendees will also gain insights into the analysis of risks, identification of red flags and other practical aspects, reinforced through case studies to illustrate best practices and pitfalls. The talk aims to equip legal professionals with some basic knowledge and tools necessary to meet compliance obligations and mitigate risks amid evolving money laundering techniques.

Jacqueline Loke is a Senior Partner in Dentons Rodyk’s Corporate practice group and Head of the Regulatory practice. She also serves as Co-Head of the Corporate & Commercial and Insurance practices.

Her areas of practice include corporate finance and securities law, mergers and acquisitions, unit trusts and asset management, regulatory matters, corporate governance, and white-collar and government investigations.

Jacqueline has extensive experience in compliance matters and regularly advises organisations across both the public and private sectors on a broad range of regulatory issues. She is also highly experienced in corporate governance, advising on compliance with statutory duties and obligations, as well as best practice codes and guidelines.
