To commemorate Dentons Rodyk’s 160th anniversary as the first and oldest law firm in Singapore, we are organising a virtual run from 1 to 31 March 2021 and, in conjunction, are aiming to raise at least S$160,000 for the SAWL Scholarship Fund.

The Fund seeks to reduce social disparities brought on by educational imbalance and (the lack of) access to education for students with physical or mental disabilities who have displayed scholastic aptitude. The Fund continues to be well received by the community as there are almost no other scholarships available for these students which, unlike bursaries, also celebrates their academic achievements.

We hope through this gesture, the Fund’s beneficiaries will be encouraged to do their best in their studies despite their disabilities.”

About the SAWL Scholarship Fund

The Singapore Association of Women Lawyers (SAWL) set up the SAWL Scholarship Fund in December 1987, with the goal of furthering the educational needs of needy students with physical disabilities, special needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or intellectual disability who have displayed scholastic aptitude. Since inception, more than 900 students have benefited from over $900,000 of scholarships disbursed to Secondary Schools, Institute of Technical Education, Junior Colleges and Tertiary institutions. The Fund is a registered Charity in Singapore and has an Institution of Public Character status (IPC status).
