Singapore codifies the legal test to determine the standard of care for the provision of medical advice October 15, 2020 Singapore: Amendments were recently made by Parliament to the Civil Law Act (Chapter 43) (the Act) to introduce a new section 37 which sets out a codified legal test to determine whether a healthcare professional has met the standard of care for the provision of medical advice. The amendments to the Act were passed in Parliament on 6 October 2020, and section 37 will come into force on a date to be determined by the Minister.
