Lee Min is a Partner in Dentons Rodyk's Banking and Finance practice.

Lee Min’s areas of practice covers mainly finance, with a focus on asset-based financing. In the course of her practice, Lee Min has been involved in a wide range of financing transactions. She has appeared as counsel for various financing institutions including local and foreign banks and funds society and provided advice on financial law issues. She has had experience assisting foreign and local companies over a range of financing matters. She also handles the sale and purchase of ships and trade finance.

Experience

  • Private companies: Advising on a number of sale and purchase of vessels as well as escrow agent in connection with sale and purchase of vessel transactions.A Singapore bank – Represented a Singapore bank, in its capacity as lender, in a secured USD37 million loan to a borrower in respect of 33 vessels, where the funds are used by the borrower's group of companies for its purchase of a listed-company in Malaysia.
  • A Singapore bank: Represented a Singapore bank, in its capacity as lender, in a secured SGD14 million loan to a shipbuilder for the construction of three electric ferries and shore charges for the ferries.
  • A Singapore branch of an Asian bank: Represented the Singapore branch of an Asian bank, in its capacity as inter alia lender, agent and security trustee in a secured USD26 million loan to a borrower for its purchase of a Singapore-flagged vessel.
  • A top European shipping financier: Represented a top European shipping financier, in its capacity as inter alia lender, agent and security trustee in a secured USD52 million loan to three borrowers for their purchase of three Singapore-flagged vessels.
  • A Singapore company: Represented a Singapore company in connection with the acquisition of a shipyard and three floating docks for SGD95 million which resulted in stamp duty savings of close to SGD1 million for the buyer. 
  • A Singapore bank: Represented the Singapore bank, in its capacity as lender, in a secured SGD17 million loan for the refinancing of outstanding loans in respect of one Marshall Islands-flagged vessel and two Mexico-flagged vessels.
  • A Singapore branch of a European bank: Represented the Singapore branch of a European bank, in its capacity as inter alia lender, agent and security trustee in a secured USD46 million loan to two borrowers for their purchase of two Liberia-flagged vessels.
  • A Singapore bank: Represented a Singapore bank, in its capacity as lender, in the variation of vessel security for existing loans taken out by a mainboard-listed marine company with operations in Indonesia.
  • A Singapore bank: Acted for a Singapore bank, in its capacity as lender, in a USD28 million loan for the refinancing of several loans under a large regional bunker craft operator group of companies which involved the corporate restructuring of the vessels owned by the group.
  • Singapore banks, Singapore branch of foreign banks and financial institutions: advised Singapore banks, Singapore branch of foreign banks and financial institutions on LIBOR transition.
  • A global financing fund: Acted for a US-based fund in its purchase of commodities receivables from various sellers.
  • A US company: Acted for a US company in its purchase of non-performing receivables from a Hong Kong-based lender.
  • A Singapore bank: Represented a Singapore bank, in its capacity as lender, in a USD11 million loan to a Hong Kong borrower for the partial financing of the purchase of a very large crude carrier (VLCC).
